- My name is Melanie. I am a special needs teacher, a best friend, Jesus loving, southern girl. I have been threw many ups and downs. Throughout my journey I have learned that there is nothing God can't do. I'm learning to count my blessings and stay strong during every challenge and storm that comes my way. Waiting on the turkey
What a day!! I woke up bright and early today and headed off to Walmart. Surprisingly, there was not a big crowd. I picked up my last minute stuff to make turkey and stuffing. Thankfully, my dad came over to help. I made stuffing just like my mom's and stuffed the turkey. My turkey bag was messed up so right now I have a 17 pound turkey in the oven. It is coated with butter and pepper. It is stuffed with stuffing and it looks golden brown. I'm pretty excited to try it out. I hope it taste like my mom's. This is what my dad and bro wanted. Actually, we cooked the turkey today and we are going to reheat it tomorrow because I was nervous and my dad didn't want me to be stressed on Christmas. I made a bunch of deviled eggs and two gallons of sweet tea. My dad is making mashed potatoes and green beans. Oh I can't forget the turkey gravy!! :) Can't wait to try this out. Soon Stephen will come by and we will exchange presents. I hope he likes his gifts. Then I'm going to my grandma's for dinner. Stephen will go to his mom's house. After that we will go to his house and exchange all the other presents. Tomorrow we will have breakfast, church, lunch, exchange presents, church again and dinner. WOW what a weekend. I can't let these material things get the best of me. I must remember to give all glory, honor, and praise to the Lord. If it weren't for his son dying on the cross I would be living a pointless life of sin. Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!
