Growing up

Today I accomplished my first "grown up" task. I bought my first real piece of furniture. I know this does not sound like a big deal but I am a tightwad. (Hard to believe if you have seen my closet). I realize that decorating a house will take time, patience and cash. However, my cousin was in town and her uncle's furniture store is going out of buisness. I decided I could look at different pieces and check out prices. I would like to publicly apologize to my parents...I did NOT know how much furniture cost. I quickly regret the days my mom was at work and I challenged Michael to see who could flip best onto the sofa or surf on the recliners. Yikes...I hope payback does not come my way. Anywho, I found a chaise. I saw it from across the room and loved it. It was one of those pieces I have always seen in movies and have always thought it was eligent. I went to three different stores in Archdale but I loved this piece.  In case you were wondering...I bought it. I also got a used dresser for $25.  I am a do it yourself fix-it-up kind of girl so I will polish this baby up and put it in my bedroom. I also found a reasonable priced couch at Big Lots. This will be a future purchase. I'm trying to budget at make a plan because I will need a washer/dryer, fridge and stove when I move in. If anyone has suggestions or stuff they wanna sale-call me. :)

Of course I took pics of the furniture for all you curious bloggers:
This is my new chaise. I was shocked at how comfy it was! I love it.
$25 Dresser....you can't go wrong with that. It just needs a little TLC.
Future couch?! Maybe, it was very comfy.
I've got BIG visions and BIG plans. Stay tuned!!!
