About Me

My photo
My name is Melanie. I am a special needs teacher, a best friend, Jesus loving, southern girl. I have been threw many ups and downs. Throughout my journey I have learned that there is nothing God can't do. I'm learning to count my blessings and stay strong during every challenge and storm that comes my way. In the end; life's a dance, you learn as you go.

A quiet Sunday

Last week was what I like to call a week to remember. Which was full of ups and downs. Needless to say, I was more than ready for the weekend. It has been so nice sleeping in and spending time with friends. Yesterday I went shopping for maternity clothes for my best friend Ashley. I never realized how hard those clothes are to find. They are expensive and there are few cute pieces. However, she found a shirt and some pants which made her feel good and that's all that matters. I am very thankful for Ashley. She is a friend from high school who has always been a listening ear. If anything we can make each other laugh when time's are hard. I can't wait until October 11th when she finds out if this bundle of joy is a girl or a boy. As we were talking yesterday, she pointed out that October 1st is on Saturday. Yikes!!! That is my birthday. I can't believe I am going to be 24. I really wish my mom was here to celebrate with me. She would always get the best cakes, nicely decorated with my favorite colors. Not to mention, we were exactly alike and she got the best presents. My favorite part about my birthday was she would always come into my bedroom, turn on the lights and sing "our song".   Now I'm surrounded by all men. This isn't to bad but they continuously ask me what I want for my birthday (I forget they can't read my mind like my mom could). I know they will make an effort to make my birthday a good day. I wish my mom was here to sing and celebrate but I know she will be singing and celebrating in a different way. I'm sure I will feel her presence all around me. If you are reading this please pray for God's peace and comfort on my birthday. Let's also pray that next week is a good week! :)
