About Me

My photo
My name is Melanie. I am a special needs teacher, a best friend, Jesus loving, southern girl. I have been threw many ups and downs. Throughout my journey I have learned that there is nothing God can't do. I'm learning to count my blessings and stay strong during every challenge and storm that comes my way. In the end; life's a dance, you learn as you go.

Happiest Girl in the Whole U.S.A

A time to reflect....
I was laying here in bed and found myself singing a familiar tune. When I was younger (and in my college days) my mom would come into my room and flip the lights on. Naturally, this would annoy any normal human being. However, my mom would come in, sit on my bed, rub my back and sing me the song posted on this site. I have no idea why she would sing this song. As a matter of fact I never asked her why she liked it so much. If you actually listen to it....it gives old school a whole new meaning. I started to wonder; if I have a daughter will she like this song as much as I do? Will I turn on the lights and sing to my children? Will we have a song that will always be "ours"? It was a bittersweet moment to hear this song and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
