About Me

My photo
My name is Melanie. I am a special needs teacher, a best friend, Jesus loving, southern girl. I have been threw many ups and downs. Throughout my journey I have learned that there is nothing God can't do. I'm learning to count my blessings and stay strong during every challenge and storm that comes my way. In the end; life's a dance, you learn as you go.

Life Verse

Not to long ago, the Pastor of our church mentioned that everyone should have a life verse. A verse in the bible that no matter how many times you read it, it will always mean something to you. I knew right off the bat that Jeremiah 29:11 was and will be my life verse. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." What could be greater than knowing that my God has a plan for my life? He doesn't want to harm me, he wants me to praise Him and have a wonderful fulfilling life. These past couple of days I have been between a rock and a hard place. I've been very tired, somewhat over worked and slightly stressed out about different things. I woke up this morning and didn't feel the best. I contemplated calling into work (which I have never done before) but all I could think about was "today is Wednesday". Wednesday's at 3:15 we have a prayer group at school. This group comes together, does a small devotion and we take prayer requests and talk with each other. Today's devotion was about stress, being tired, everything I have felt. Can you believe that the devotion verse was Jeremiah 29:12-13?!?? If God wasn't speaking to me then I don't know who was. 12 "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." This verse comes right after my life verse. It simply says seek me, come talk to me. I will be a listening ear. Lay your burdens at my feet and come have a relationship with me. My God is an amazing God. Now I need to listen to him and go lay my burdens at his feet. Tomorrow is Thursday----boy oh boy time is flying. :)
