- My name is Melanie. I am a special needs teacher, a best friend, Jesus loving, southern girl. I have been threw many ups and downs. Throughout my journey I have learned that there is nothing God can't do. I'm learning to count my blessings and stay strong during every challenge and storm that comes my way. Something Borrowed...
At the end of the school year, teachers drill this saying into their students. "If you don't use it, you lose it." This applies to reading. Elementary teachers strive to make their students love and enjoy reading. At the end of the year we lecture, quote, read and bribe our students to READ, READ, READ over the summer. I think the staff at school, as well as myself scared me into thinking I may lose it. This summer I have read three novels. HAHA. This first book I read was Water for Elephants. It was pretty good. However, it has way to many curse words. (The really bad ones). It's a love story that involves the circus. It's also a popular movie right now staring Reese Witherspoon. I'm waiting for the DVD to come out. Next, I read Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. This was a safe choice. I wasn't sure what I wanted to read next and I love his books--you can't go wrong. It was a love story/mystery. Slow at parts but overall, it was a good book. His books remind me of my mom. We would read his novels and trade off. He was definitely one of her favorite authors. Now, the most recent book I read was Something Borrowed by Emily Griffin. It is also a movie that just came out staring Kate Hudson. This book was awesome. It's a somewhat strange love story between friends. I highly recommend it. Now that I have finished the book I'm dying to read the sequel Something Blue. The problem is, I can't find it anywhere. I've been on a hunt for two days trying to find this book and it's on back order at the library. I'm such a dork, I can't even wait I have to go to Barnes and Nobel tomorrow and find it. LOL We can also thank my reading to my sweet and wonderful boyfriend. He never really "quits" working and I carry a book around when he is in the car, on the phone, at a job..... you name it. Thanks to Stephen....I'm hooked on books. I can't wait to see my students reading level when they get back to school! And if your looking for a good book I recommend any of the following. Remember, if you don't use it.....you LOSE it. :)
